Metallic and Silicone dies / Thermal bonding
Dies are necessary in hot stamping for defining graphism.
Metal is mainly used in graphic sector, while it’s rarely used in plastic and cosmetic sectors.
The most used one is magnesium, followed by brass and steel. Calibrated aluminum dies are recently used.
Dies may be flat or shaped to suit a specific curvature. They can be manufactured with different degrees of hardness.
The silicone dies specific for stamping on plastic and high-standard cosmetic. Thermal bonding: in order to let dies fix on the heated head in a simple and fast way, Tecnofoil offers a special double-sided adhesive that is activated by heat and is sufficient to block the punch.
